Mrs. Amesheia Warren

Meet Our Co-Principal: Mrs. Amesheia Warren

Mrs. Amesheia Warren is a 1999 graduate of Southampton High School and a dedicated leader within Southampton County Public Schools. For her, SCPS has been more than a place of employment, it has been HOME. It is where her educational foundation was built and where she was shaped into the educator and leader she is today.

After graduating from high school, Mrs. Warren continued her academic journey at Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Service Counseling in 2002. She later earned a Master of Arts in Educational/Teacher Leadership and holds endorsements in Early Childhood Special Education and Administration and Supervision (PK–12), reflecting her strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.

Mrs. Warren began her career with Southampton County Public Schools shortly after high school, working as a substitute teacher during college breaks. In 2004, she joined Nottoway Elementary School as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. Her passion for supporting students and families led her into a variety of leadership roles across the division. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2008 and 2016 and was honored as Southampton County Public Schools Division Teacher of the Year in 2016. In 2017, she served as the division’s Educational Diagnostician and later as Special Education Specialist. In 2023, Mrs. Warren proudly stepped into her current role as Co-Principal of Riverdale Elementary School.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Warren has been deeply involved in serving students beyond the classroom. Her contributions include coaching JV and Varsity Basketball and Football Cheerleaders, serving as an Odyssey of the Mind coach, and actively supporting school communities through PTA leadership. She has also provided homebound and home-based instruction, assisted with homeschool applications within the division, worked in alternative education, assisted with manifestation meetings, and served on the division’s Special Education Eligibility Team.

Outside of school, Mrs. Warren is a proud wife and mother. Her dedication to Southampton County Public Schools runs deep, as the division has played a pivotal role in shaping her values, strengthening her purpose, and inspiring her ongoing commitment to education and service.
